10 Fabulous Wedding Dress Elements We Love

There is a bridal gown out there for every single woman in the world. No matter what your personal style is, there is a dress someplace that contains the elements that you desire to make it your dream gown. Our bridal salon in South Florida is filled with a wonderful variety of wedding dresses in every style, size, and shape. Here are a few of the many elements that really make a dress stand out to us at Angelus Bridal & Formals

Illusion Sleeves
Long sleeves without covering up all of your skin are a possibility with this dreamy element. It makes it look as if you and the wedding dress are one, like the fabric is a part of your skin.

Illusion Backs
This look takes the illusion from your arms to your back. This type of detail always makes a stunning statement.

Backless Dresses
Lots of fabric in the front of your bridal gown allows you to tastefully show a lot more skin in the back. A bit daring, yet beautifully elegant.

Bridal Belts
A gorgeous gown can be elevated to another level of exquisiteness with the simple addition of a bridal belt or sash. It's a wonderful way to add some of your own personality and style to the dress you choose.

Corset Backs
This timeless look will never go out of style. There is something incredibly romantic about the look that a corset back adds to a dress.

Trains
The back of your dress will be highlighted as you walk down the aisle. A fabulous train gives all of your guests something to admire until you turn back around, when all eyes will be focused on your glowing, happy smile.

Ruffles
A big skirt full of bouncy ruffles is a gorgeous way to add a touch of whimsy to your wedding day look. They also look fascinating twirling around the dance floor.

Buttons
Buttons down the entire back of a wedding dress is another classic look that will never go away. The brilliant thing about fashions of today is that the buttons on most dresses are a beautiful illusion, and you don't really have to fasten and unfasten each one when you get dressed.

Bows
"Tie the knot" literally by showing off a pretty bow on your bridal gown. They bring about a sweet innocence to your wedding day fashion, and they are an excellent way to add a pop of color to the dress if you like.

Lace
Romantic, elegant, timeless... lace is an accent that women will continue loving to wear until the end of time. Seeing it immediately adds a touch of class to the feel of your big day.

Those 10 elements are only the beginning. Every single bridal gown in our Pompano Beach bridal boutique has something on it that makes that particular dress one-of-a-kind. We would love to hear what elements make you fall in love with a gown when you see it. We are willing to bet, no matter what it is, you will be able to find an amazing dress with that feature at Angelus Bridal & Formals. Make an appointment to come in and find out!

9 Wedding Dress Fun Facts You May Not Know

It's no big surprise that we love learning everything that there is to know about wedding dresses at our South Florida Bridal Salon. When you are surrounded by so many gorgeous gowns every day, it's an easy topic to talk about. There are lots and lots of fun facts out there, and today Angelus Bridal & Formals has 9 to share that may be news to you.

1. Wedding magazines are still something you are bound to find somewhere in the home of a newly engaged woman, but it is no longer the first place to turn for researching the perfect wedding dress. Today, over half of the future brides look for gowns online, beginning with sites like Pinterest for inspiration. Of course, there is no substitute for making an appointment and trying your favorites on.

2. Veils add beauty to any wedding gown, but did you know that they originally were worn to serve a purpose? Greek and Roman brides wore veils to keep evil spirits at bay. Back in the day of arranged marriages, veils hid the bride from her future groom until after the ceremony to avoid any second thoughts.

3. If you fall in love with more than one dress, it is perfectly acceptable, and lots of fun, to make a wardrobe change during the evenings festivities. About 20% of brides wear a completely new dress for dancing at the reception. Another option to switch up your look a bit is to simply change your headpiece or jewelry to reinvent your ceremony look.

4. It can be difficult to find undergarments that are both comfortable and still do their job under some wedding dresses. Not only do we carry the perfect one here, but our owner created it! Angelus Bridal's very own Coco Abadi saw a need for a better bra in the industry, leading him to patent the Flattering Me Bra. It offers real support, natural cleavage, and most importantly, comfort.

5. A bride is free to wear any color bridal gown that she wants to on her wedding day, but white still seems to be the number one choice. This color became traditional in 1840 when Queen Victoria got married in white. Before then, women simply wore their best dress, which rarely was white.

6. When Grace Kelly became a princess by marrying Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956, she wore a bridal gown made with 125-year-old lace.

7. In India, women wear gowns in bright colors like red, which are often covered with intricate designs and details. Rather than veils, they wear saris to cover their heads.

8. If you are afraid of spiders, be brave if you see one on your wedding day. It is said to bring good luck when its found on your wedding dress.

9. The most expensive bridal gown was designed by Renee Strauss and master jeweler Martin Katz and covered in 150 carats of diamonds! The price tag on it was $12 million. Our Pompano Beach wedding dress store is filled with the finest and most trendy wedding fashions, all made with top quality fabrics and materials, but available the the lowest possible prices.

When you shop at Angelus Bridal & Formals, we will listen to your wants, needs, and wishes to help you find that dream wedding dress that you are searching for. We carry a wide variety of styles, colors, sizes, and price points for you to choose from. Come in soon and see for yourself.

Brilliant Support - the Flattering Me Bra

Over the years, our South Florida wedding dress store heard bride after bride complain about the longline strapless bras that were available to them.  Angelus Bridal & Formal's owner, Coco Abadi, strives to make each and every one of his customers happy, so he came up with a solution for this problem - the Flattering Me Bra.

Our lovely brides-to-be would be thrilled about finding their dream dress, but the undergarments available to them were not what they needed.  It's difficult to stay excited about your gorgeous wedding gown when the only bra that you can find makes you miserable.  We heard complaints about other bras that did not offer enough support and were uncomfortable.  Many longline bras at the time could be seen through gowns and took away any cleavage.

With that in mind, Coco came to the rescue!  He says, "I spent months developing a long line strapless bra that would satisfy my customers.  When I finally did it, it was so exciting to be able to offer it to everyone."

There is no other long line strapless bra on the market that offers women the comfort and support that they need, along with the cleavage that they desire.  It contours the bodice, and is excellent for gowns with low backs.  Push-up pads come along with the cups that can be removed, offering a customizable amount of cleavage.

"I tried so many longline bras to wear under my wedding dress. I can be anywhere between a 48DD to a 52D. I tried bras from Carnival, Dominique, and Goddess but none matched the fit and control of the Flattering Me bra. I ended up getting a 50D. It came with clear straps that work well with my v-neck dress. There is some SERIOUS padding the comes with this bra which would be good to wear for a sexy date night out, but not for church, so I simply removed them to fit with my wedding dress. I will probably get the same bra in Black to wear for another occasion."
-Kapehe, Amazon review

The design is smooth and does not show through most gowns.  You can also get it in four different colors:  black, ivory, nude, and white.  It is also available in a variety of sizes to cater to every woman.  You can get a Flattering Me Bra in sizes from "32A" to "52F" in both "Standard" and "Petite."  The petite customer is often neglected, so offering the bra in this size took care of yet another fashion problem.  It is the first and only of its kind available for petite customers.

"I needed a corset for my strapless wedding dress that I could use for future events (so an all white corset with frills was out of the question). I was surprised by the comfort and sleekness of the corset--and the firmness of the materials! I didn't want something flimsy and I was happy to find out that this is one of the best corsets I own now because of the quality of the product as well as the long-term wear investment. Great buy!"
-Alexandra Edgeworth, Amazon review

This isn't just limited for use by brides.  It is also perfect for bridesmaids and most other special occasion dresses.  The Flattering Me Bra is the world's best longline strapless bra offering real support, natural cleavage, and incredible comfort.

Wedding Dress Silhouettes Explained

A lot of brides come in to our wedding dress store in South Florida knowing exactly what they want, but they are not always quite sure how to describe it.  Wedding gowns come in many different shapes.  A little bit of knowledge going in to your shopping experience can help you to relay what you are seeing in your mind as the perfect dress.  Here are a few of the wedding dress silhouettes that you will find at Angelus Bridal & Formals.

Ball Gown

This is typically thought of as a princess dress, straight out of a fairy tale.  It is perfect for the bride that is looking to exude romance with a bit of dramatic flair.  It has a fitted bodice that flairs at the waist with a full skirt.

A-Line

A-lines are full like a ball gown, but a little bit easier to move around a room in.  It features a fitted bodice down to the the waist, then gradually flows out all the way to the ground. The silhouette resembles the letter A, lending to its name.

Trumpet

Fitted down to about mid-thigh, then flaring out, describes this particular silhouette.  It offers a look that is fitted to show off your beautiful curves while still allowing plenty of flow in the skirt.

Mermaid

A Mermaid silhouette is also fitted down the body like the Trumpet style above, but this gown does not flair out until the knee.  This form-fitting, contoured dress is meant for a very confident bride that likes to show off her shape.

Sheath

Sheath dresses flow straight down from the neckline to the hem. This shape can have a more casual feel than the rest, or lend to a seductive aura.  It all depends on the accessories you pair it with and the manner in which you carry yourself.

Do you have a wedding dress silhouette picked out for yourself?  It's wonderful to arrive at your appointment with a few favorites in mind, but don't limit yourself to only those.  The very best way to find your dream wedding gown is to try on many different kinds.  The one that is the most flattering on just may surprise you.  Our brilliant bridal consultants are here to assist you in narrowing down your multitude of choices and pick the dress that was made for you.
