Our Gorgeous Mix & Match Wedding Dress Separates

We have heard so many brides at our South Florida bridal salon tell us that they love the top of the wedding dress, but the skirt isn't quite right, and vice versa. Well, we now have a brilliant solution to this problem - our mix & match bridal gowns! Angelus Bridal & Formals is thrilled to be able to offer all of our wonderful brides these customizable looks from Allure Bridal.

Create a Unique Look
Buying the top half of your wedding dress separately from the bottom half allows you to pick and choose from a variety of designs that can result in a style that no other bride has. Pair this with your personalized choice of bridal accessories, and you have wedding fashion that is unique to you and completely all your own.

Get a Better Fit
There are lots of different body types and shapes in this world. One girl will have much different measurements than the next, and these are not always proportioned in a way that fits the general sizes that are produced. Buying mix & match pieces for your bridal gown allows you to find a bottom and top that each fit that section of your body well, meaning fewer alterations may be needed.

Make a Quick Change
Lots of brides like to wear one look for the ceremony, then switch it up with something totally different for the reception. Mix & match wedding dresses make this easy! Changing can be a lot simpler when you are only switching out a top or bottom rather than changing into an entirely new dress. Plus, you only have to buy 1 top and 2 bottoms, or vice versa, rather than two completely different gowns.

Experience Love At First Sight
It's not difficult to completely fall in love with your dream wedding dress the second you see yourself in it. When this happens to you at Angelus Bridal on your first visit, it could mean big discounts for you and your bridesmaids! Any bride that says "YES" to her dress and purchases it on her first visit to our Pompano Beach wedding dress store will be given 20% off of the purchase of veils and headpieces.

In addition to that, your bridesmaids will benefit too. As an added bonus to taking advantage of this special, your girls will be automatically eligible for $30 off of each new bridesmaid gown purchased for your wedding on gowns over $160, or 10% off of dresses priced below $159.95.

So what are you waiting for? Your perfect gown may be here at our South Florida bridal boutique among the wide array of styles, sizes, and shapes we carry. Call for an appointment and let us help you find that dream wedding dress.

Tips For Handling The Toasts At Your Wedding

Once the "I do's" are done and the reception has started, that's when the toasts generally begin. There are a few people that should be heard from and some important things that need to be said. This can cause some awkward moments if you don't have a plan, so Angelus Bridal & Formals put together a few tips so everything can go as smoothly as possible.

BRIDE & GROOM TOASTS
It is important to thank all of your guests for joining you on this very special day. Plan a point during the reception when you and your groom can do this. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.

  • Think ahead: It is perfectly okay to speak from the heart with whatever comes to mind in the moment, but it's wise to have an idea of what you will say ahead of time. Think about the important things you don't want to forget to mention, and come up with a good closing line.
  • Keep it short & sweet: Even if there is a lot that you want to say, any speech longer than 3-5 minutes may lose your audience's attention.
  • Speak clearly: Don't talk too quickly, and make sure that you speak loud enough so that everyone can hear you.

WEDDING PARTY TOASTS
Traditionally, there are certain people that are expected to say a few words in honor of the bride & groom. You will want to give them a few guidelines so that the toasts don't get embarrassing or run too long.

  • Choose who will toast: It is acceptable for you to pick and choose who you will allow to give a toast at your wedding. This way you can monitor how many take place and how long they will last. Ask first, and don't force anyone to speak that is not comfortable doing so. Generally, toasts are expected from the best man, the maid/matron of honor, and the couple's parents.
  • Give them a time limit: Even if they are great at entertaining a crowd, lots of long-winded speeches may make your guests antsy. Ask them to keep it under 5 minutes.
  • Schedule the toasts: The time that toasts are expected to happen should be included when you plan your wedding day timeline. If there are quite a few, space them out throughout the day so they don't last too long all at once. Someone could propose a toast at the cocktail hour, another before dinner, and others during dinner or before dancing.
  • Know it's okay to say "no thank you": If you are worried about toasts taking up too much time during your reception, it's okay to request that those other than the people listed above refrain from toasting. You can do this by letting the DJ know that no one should be given the microphone without your permission. Also, if a person has been drinking heavily or is prone to telling inappropriate stories, you definitely do not want them to have unnecessary attention.

Hopefully the tips above can help you to plan a wedding that runs smoothly and is pleasant for everyone involved. Angelus Bridal has had the pleasure of knowing many brides over the years, and we have learned a few things from their experiences. Our own personal experience with wedding fashion has made us experts on that particular subject. If you are looking for your dream wedding dress, fashionable bridesmaid dresses, or something beautiful for your mother to wear, our South Florida bridal salon would love to help you out.

Quick-Fix Tips For the Groom's Clothing

Some people assume that it is easy for the groom to get ready on the wedding day - they just throw on a suit and they're done. Well, sometimes this is the case, but on occasion, they can have "wardrobe malfunctions" too. Angelus Bridal has put together a list of a few problems that the men in the wedding may run into, plus some helpful ideas on how to fix them.

Wrong Size
If you have ordered your tuxedo or suit for the wedding, you most likely will not see it until right before the wedding day. If a measurement was written down wrong or there was a mistake in shipping, it may not fit as well as you would like. In that case, if the other men in your wedding party are wearing similar clothing, trade with one of them if it's a better fit. It's much more important that the groom looks his best. The groomsmen should have your back on this.

If the shirt collar is too tight, you can loop a rubber band through the buttonhole and attach that around the button. This can then be easily hidden with a carefully placed necktie. Should you end up with pants that are a bit snug, safety pins can be looped together and used to fasten the pants, and then you can cover this unique rigging with the cummerbund.

Ripped Seam
Hopefully the bride or wedding planner has a well-stocked wedding day emergency kit on hand and someone can quickly sew you back up. If not, or there's simply not enough time to sew it, you may be able to turn the garment inside-out, hold it together at the seam, and use safety pins to tightly fasten it back together. As a last resort, a stapler or duct tape will work too, but be extra careful when removing those after the wedding so as not to damage the fabric.

Sweat Stains
There's a good chance your nerves may be acting up on a day as important as this special occasion. If you sweat excessively when you are nervous, or if you are getting married on an extremely hot day, you will want to take precautions to avoid this showing through your wardrobe.

An undershirt will absorb perspiration before it can reach the outer layer of clothing, and this can be changed between the ceremony and reception if needed. You can also shop for underarm garment shields to place under your armpit and absorb any extra perspiration. You may also want to bring along an extra button-down shirt to change into before the reception begins.

No Boutonniere
This will work for any of the men that are supposed to wear a boutonniere on the wedding day. If the florist doesn't deliver enough, pluck a few flowers from a centerpiece or bridesmaid's bouquet to use. Gather them together with string or tape, and creatively pin it so that the fastener doesn't show. It is very likely that no one will notice a difference.

Our South Florida bridal salon is a one-stop-shop when it comes to many of the things that you will need for your wedding in addition to the bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses. We also feature an in-house photographer, cake designer, makeup artist, florist, seamstress, and tuxedo rentals. Fixing Stains on Your Wedding Dress

No matter how careful you are, there is always the chance that something will get knocked over or spilled and your wedding dress will get splashed. You cannot always stop accidents from happening, but you can prepare for them ahead of time so that they don't put a damper on your day. Once you find the most beautiful wedding dress in South Florida, you will want to make sure it remains looking its best throughout the entire wedding day.

Having a wedding day emergency kit with you at all times is an excellent way to prepare for all types of situations that may arise. Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few tips for how to use your emergency kit items to keep stains from setting into your bridal gown. Always check the cleaning instructions on the dress that are specific to the material it is made from, and always test an inconspicuous area first to make sure the fix won't stain the dress further.

Lipstick Stains
Dabbing some petroleum jelly onto the stain may help to dissolve it. You can also try dabbing it with a stain removal wipe. (With all stains, ALWAYS dab, NEVER rub!) Any remaining residue can be covered up with chalk or baby powder.

Makeup Stains
For foundation or other makeup stains, try absorbing the product by rubbing it with chalk. Let it sit for a few moments, then whisk away the chalk dust. Baby powder or baking powder may work too, but they are less absorbent than chalk.

Red Wine Stains
Use a white towel to absorb as much of the wine as possible. After that, gently dab the stain from underneath the gown with a white towel soaked in cold water, beginning at the edges of the stain and moving inward. You may use a dab of dishwashing soap if the stain is particularly tough.

Tea or Coffee Stains
A dot of clear liquid soap on a white cloth can help to remove these if gently dabbed from underneath the fabric. Use as little water as possible when trying to remove the stain. Club soda may also be helpful at removing the spilled liquid.

Dirt Stains
You can use the same techniques as described for tea and coffee above.

Water Stains
Whether it is rain or a spilled glass of water, this liquid that generally helps to remove stains can also damage the delicate material of your wedding dress. If there is time, air-drying is the best thing for water on a bridal gown. A hair dryer set on low can also be used, but be sure to keep it at least 6 inches away from the dress, and keep it moving so that the heat is not concentrated on one area for too long.

Be Prepared
There are other ways to treat many of the stains above, but we have included things that should be easy to find at your wedding with short notice. Make sure your wedding day emergency kit has all of these items, or know where on the premises that you can locate them quickly. If you have any questions at all about caring for your bridal gown, the helpful staff at Angelus Bridal & Formals should be able to assist you. We will do everything in our power to make sure your dress is exactly as you always imagined it on your wedding day.
