The Most Important Wedding Dress Photographs to Capture

A picture is worth a thousand words, and on your wedding day, there's a lot to be "said." Your wedding dress is a big chapter in the story that those photos will tell. The bridal gown that you choose from our South Florida bridal boutique will feature many fabulous details that can be made even more amazing with the help of a talented photographer's eye.

The pictures taken of your Angelus Bridal wedding dress can be magical, and it will help your photographer out a lot if you let them know the shots that you simply have to have. Here are a few ideas from some of our favorite wedding dress pictures.

Back of the Dress

It's impossible for you to enjoy the fabulous back of your bridal gown while you are wearing it, so the memories captured by your photographer are the only way to truly admire your look from behind. The still shots are beautiful, but we especially love pictures of that walk down the aisle. Bring the groom in on some of these photos and have him peeking over your shoulder while the camera captures the back of your dress.

Tiniest Details

What made you fall in love with your wedding dress in the first place? The long row of delicate buttons down the back, the elegant lace details around the hem, the intricate beading, or possibly those flowing layers of the skirt. Let the photographer know what your favorite parts of the gown are and let them highlight those.

The Dress on its Own

There is both a sense of the calm before the storm and excited anticipation in the photographs that we have seen of a lone dress on a hanger before the bride steps into it. A great photographer can make this shot look like a work of art.

Accessories

Document all of those lovely accessories that helped to bring your wedding day look to life. This includes headpieces, veils, shoes, jewelry, and maybe even your something old-new-borrowed-blue. The wedding dress can make a lovely backdrop to position all of these accessories on. Take precautions if you will be including your bridal bouquet in these pictures. Don't let the water from the stems or any loose petals stain your dress.

Skirt or Train

If you have chosen a ball gown with a gigantic skirt, or a dress with a long, cascading train, accentuate all of that extra, glorious fabric. Spread it out to as full as it can possibly get. Surround yourself with it.

The Gown in Action

Many of our wedding dresses are designed to elegantly move along with you. Make sure that you get a few action shots of your gown on the dance floor, showing off a life of its own. If you have a very large veil, take a few shots of it flowing in the wind, or hiding a kiss behind that sheer fabric between you and your groom.

Silhouette

The shape of your bridal gown can be as breathtaking as the fabric and details. Take advantage of a beautiful sunset to outline the gorgeous silhouette of your wedding dress, or stand in front of a large window, putting you in shadow while highlighting the outline of your gown.

Those are just a few of the many exquisite photographs that can be taken to show off that beautiful bridal gown that you found in our South Florida wedding dress store. After the wedding, all of us at Angelus Bridal & Formals would love to see the pictures that you had taken! Share them with us on our social media pages.

9 Wedding Dress Fun Facts You May Not Know

It's no big surprise that we love learning everything that there is to know about wedding dresses at our South Florida Bridal Salon. When you are surrounded by so many gorgeous gowns every day, it's an easy topic to talk about. There are lots and lots of fun facts out there, and today Angelus Bridal & Formals has 9 to share that may be news to you.

1. Wedding magazines are still something you are bound to find somewhere in the home of a newly engaged woman, but it is no longer the first place to turn for researching the perfect wedding dress. Today, over half of the future brides look for gowns online, beginning with sites like Pinterest for inspiration. Of course, there is no substitute for making an appointment and trying your favorites on.

2. Veils add beauty to any wedding gown, but did you know that they originally were worn to serve a purpose? Greek and Roman brides wore veils to keep evil spirits at bay. Back in the day of arranged marriages, veils hid the bride from her future groom until after the ceremony to avoid any second thoughts.

3. If you fall in love with more than one dress, it is perfectly acceptable, and lots of fun, to make a wardrobe change during the evenings festivities. About 20% of brides wear a completely new dress for dancing at the reception. Another option to switch up your look a bit is to simply change your headpiece or jewelry to reinvent your ceremony look.

4. It can be difficult to find undergarments that are both comfortable and still do their job under some wedding dresses. Not only do we carry the perfect one here, but our owner created it! Angelus Bridal's very own Coco Abadi saw a need for a better bra in the industry, leading him to patent the Flattering Me Bra. It offers real support, natural cleavage, and most importantly, comfort.

5. A bride is free to wear any color bridal gown that she wants to on her wedding day, but white still seems to be the number one choice. This color became traditional in 1840 when Queen Victoria got married in white. Before then, women simply wore their best dress, which rarely was white.

6. When Grace Kelly became a princess by marrying Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956, she wore a bridal gown made with 125-year-old lace.

7. In India, women wear gowns in bright colors like red, which are often covered with intricate designs and details. Rather than veils, they wear saris to cover their heads.

8. If you are afraid of spiders, be brave if you see one on your wedding day. It is said to bring good luck when its found on your wedding dress.

9. The most expensive bridal gown was designed by Renee Strauss and master jeweler Martin Katz and covered in 150 carats of diamonds! The price tag on it was $12 million. Our Pompano Beach wedding dress store is filled with the finest and most trendy wedding fashions, all made with top quality fabrics and materials, but available the the lowest possible prices.

Angelus Bridal & Formals' owner, Coco Abadi, has been in the bridal business since 1992, giving him lots of experience when it comes to knowing what a bride wants. A perfect example of this is the fact that in 1996, Coco created and patented the "Flattering Me" strapless bra. He saw a need, and he was able to solve the problem beautifully.

Our bridal consultants are also incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to helping brides find the best gown for them. The consultants are all trained to educate every customer about all aspects of shopping for their special dress. They aren't there simply to make a sale. Their desire is to make your wedding fashion dream come true. The patience, empathy, and individualized attention that they provide make the entire shopping process more enjoyable.

Appointments are highly recommended when you visit our South Florida bridal salon. This allows us to give you our undivided attention because we have set time aside specifically for you. An Enchanting Variety of Different Wedding Laces

Our South Florida wedding dress store houses a multitude of magnificent gowns made from many different luxurious fabrics. A very popular choice is lace. Sometimes it covers the entire dress, and other dresses use it for lovely decorative accents.

Angelus Bridal & Formals deals with lots of materials on a daily basis, but we realize that many women are new to the terms involved with fashion. Today we would like to explain a few of the different types of lace that you may find on bridal gowns.

One definition of lace is "a netlike ornamental fabric made of threads by hand or machine." This delicate fabric was once made with linen, silk, gold, or silver threads. Today, it is most often made with cotton thread.

Chantilly

This type of lace originated in Chantilly, France. The dainty features will incorporate flowers and ribbons on a plain net background. It gives a dress a romantic look and feel, and is often used for sleeves and overlays.

Alencon

Also a French style, it has a distinct floral pattern that will be outlined with corded details. The 3-dimensional effect that it gives is very popular this wedding season. You will often find it decorated with sequins or beaded embellishments.

Guipure

This is a heavier lace that can look similar to embroidery or macrame. It is cotton-based and features interwoven patterns. You will often find it on structured silhouettes.

Honiton

This is another type of Guipure lace which joins together round, floral, and leaf motifs. A dress made with this will most likely have an old-fashioned, regal look.

Eyelet

The sweet feel that eyelet lends to a bridal gown is great for a summer wedding. It has a traditional, heirloom quality, incorporating scalloped edges and cotton fabric.

Schiffli

Most often machine-made, this lace is actually a type of embroidery. It is lightweight with a very delicate look. It is beautiful as an overlay or for edging.

Lace is just one of the many enchanting fabrics that adorn the gowns in our Pompano Beach bridal salon. When you visit Angelus Bridal & Formals for your shopping appointment, tell us the types of materials that are your favorite and we will start from there. In addition, our talented consultants will be able to point you in a few directions toward similar fashions. Together, we will find the perfect wedding dress that was made especially for you.
