Selecting the Perfect Bouquet to Complement Your Dress!

The hard part is over - you've found the perfect wedding dress at Angelus Bridal. Now you need to think about ideas for a bouquet that will complement the dress and tie in with your wedding theme. The best wedding dress store in Pompano Beach, FL has some suggestions on different styles to consider when selecting a bouquet that will pair beautifully with your gown.

Here are some of the different types of bouquet styles:

Arm Sheath Bouquet

This style is designed to rest on the bride's forearm. Traditionally, this style includes long-stemmed flowers, such as irises, sunflowers, or calla lilies. This style of bouquet is great for many reasons. They can be kept fresh in a vase prior to the ceremony and are generally budget-friendly because it doesn't require a large number of flowers. These bouquets look great with a streamlined or simple A-line wedding dresses.

Cascade Bouquet

This bouquet is designed with an abundance of overflowing flowers cascading down in a loose style. The cascade bouquet is the perfect statement accessory that can add liveliness to simple elegant gowns. This is a great solution for including exotic flowers into your florals. Traditionally, this choice is paired with long-length, formal dresses, such as the ballgown style.

Composite Bouquet

This bouquet is constructed of hundreds of petals wired together to look like one enormous flower. It's simplistic in design, but graceful and elegant. This style is dramatic and distinctive and works well with silk flowers for those who wish to preserve their bouquet for years to come. The Composite bouquet looks best with an elegant and simple dress, and is the perfect choice for a vintage style.

Biedermeier Bouquet

The Biedermeier bouquet consists of a dense cluster of blooms carefully arranged in circular patterns of different colored flowers. Each of these rings contain a single type of flower. The great thing about this style is that due to the tight structure in which they are created, they're generally pretty resilient bouquets and less likely to lose shape. This is a good choice for formal ceremonies, and make for easy photography since they look great from any angle.

Posy Bouquet

The Posy bouquet is composed of a bunch of flowers arranged to create a slightly domed shape. This is a great choice if you don't want your dress and flowers to compete against each other. It can be scaled down in size to create complementary bridesmaid's bouquets, making it a very versatile choice. The Posy bouquet is also less fragile than other styles of bouquets so it's easier to set down without risking ruining it. This choice pairs well with extravagant dresses due to the simplicity of the bouquet.

With this helpful list from South Florida's most trusted bridal salon, you'll be on your way to selecting the perfect bouquet to complement your dream wedding dress. Weddings aren’t just regular dates. They are special and you want to make sure that every second you spend on getting everything for that date is done right. 6 Helpful Tips For Picking Out Your Flower Girl's Dress!

A very special role in your wedding ceremony is that of the flower girl. Picture yourself making that grand entrance while guests and your future husband await the first look of the blushing bride, floating gracefully over a trail of flower petals leading the way to happily ever after. Angelus Bridal & Formals knows that the flower girl helps to make your walk down the aisle magical, therefore, her dress is as equally important as her role on your big day.

A lot of times, the flower girl is dressed in a similar version of the bride’s dress, but any dress that ties into the look of the wedding will be just as sweet. Here are some helpful tips for selecting the perfect dress for your beautiful flower girl:
#1 - Take notes on your flower girl’s age, height, physical appearance, and shoe size. This is important because you do not want to select a dress that is too small, too large, uncomfortable, or unbecoming for the occasion.

#2 - Keep the season in mind when you’re selecting her dress. You do not want her to be uncomfortable during your ceremony, reception and pictures. If your wedding is planned during the summer, consider a lighter, breathable fabric for her dress so she doesn’t get too hot. If planned during a colder season, make sure she is dressed appropriately so she doesn’t get too cold.

#3 - Select a dress that is easy for your flower girl to walk in without tripping or getting caught up in the fabric.

#4 - Pick a dress that is made of durable material to avoid tearing, staining, or wrinkling. Chances are, your flower girl will run around in her dress the entire day. You want it to stand up to the job.

#5 - Decide whether you want to go more traditional and have her dressed similar to you, or if you’d rather her stand out in a dress iof a different color within your wedding theme. If you choose to go with the mini-bride look, keep in mind that you don’t want her to be so bridal that it takes away from the grandeur of your dress.

#6 - Avoid extreme designs and severe color or pattern contrasts. You don’t want the dress to clash so much in style, color, or design that it becomes distracting and takes away from the cohesive look of the wedding.

Although these tips for choosing the perfect flower girl dress can’t help you make the final decision, they can help narrow down your options and make selecting the right one much easier. When it comes to finding the perfect wedding fashions for the rest of your bridal party, our South Florida bridal salon is here to make that happen! When you are ready to begin shopping, give Angelus Bridal & Formals a call at 954-943-7768 and we'll take care of you.

5 Tips For Finding the Perfect Dress For Your Son or Daughter's Wedding

Whether you are the mother of the bride or the mother of the groom, you deserve to stand out brilliantly on your child's wedding day. Our excellent selection of special occasion dresses in South Florida can help you to do exactly that! Using the following tips from Angelus Bridal & Formals will allow you to find a gown that you and the happy couple all love.

Talk to the Bride and Groom
The fabulous look of the dress that you choose will be all yours, but the day is all about the bride and groom. Ask their opinion on the look and style they are envisioning for the wedding. Their suggestions can guide you to look for styles and colors that will be cohesive with the overall wedding design. After all, you are not a regular guest, but an important part of the celebration.

Talk to the Other Mother
If the person that your child is marrying has a mother that will be attending the ceremony too, you will want to get together and talk fashion. You definitely don't want to show up in the same dress, and it will look nice in group photographs if your fashions compliment each other. Coordinating the wedding day look with your future in-law can avoid possible conflicts and hurt feelings later on.

Be Inspired by Wedding Details
Just like when the bride shops for her beautiful wedding dress, you can take cues from various wedding details to help you find a gown that you will be comfortable in and will also blend well with everything else going on. For example, the time of day and season that the wedding is taking place will determine the formality of the gown, as well as the type of fabric you may want to wear.

The venue will also factor into your style choice. Is it indoors or outdoors, and are there lots of stairs or hills? You want something that will look amazing on you, but you want to be comfortable in it all day too. Also, think about the types of activities that the couple has planned for the wedding. If there will be lots of dancing, you'll want to find something you can really move in!

Start Shopping Early
The sooner you begin shopping for your gown, the more time you will have to find exactly what you want. It's also wise to get a head start on finding your mother of the bride dress in case it needs to be special-ordered or any alterations are necessary.

Be Yourself
All of the things mentioned above are excellent guidelines for your dress search, but when it comes right down to the final decision, stick with your own personal style. It is completely possible to coordinate with everyone else in the wedding while still looking like yourself. Angelus Bridal & Formals in Pompano Beach can provide the exquisite fashion, and then we will help you to dress it up and make the look all yours.

Great Green Wedding Ideas

Since St. Patrick's Day will be here soon, today we've decided to focus on the lovely color green and a few ways that you can incorporate it into your wedding. You can literally add the color in places, like with the best bridesmaid dresses in South Florida, or figuratively by taking an Eco-friendly "green" approach. Angelus Bridal & Formals has some fun ideas for both of those instances.

Fashionable Accents
The bride can wear a classic white (or ivory, champagne, etc...) wedding dress and still add a touch of green here or there. Add a whimsical pop of color to your wedding day look with colored shoes, or possibly even a a colorful petticoat under a ball gown in varying shades of green that peek out from under the skirt. Jewelry is another excellent place to play with additional color, and you could even look for a bridal belt with some sparkly green gems within it. Get the guys involved too and put the groomsmen in colorful green socks.

Beautiful Bridesmaid Dresses
If you have chosen green as a major color in the scheme of your wedding design, you can find lots of gorgeous bridesmaid dresses in various shades at our South Florida bridal boutique. Pantone chose "Greenery" as their color of the year for 2017, so that makes green a trendy choice this year. The styles from Allure Bridals and Bill Levkoff pictured below are just a small sampling of what you will find.

Fancy Florals
There are a few green flowers to be found, but the easiest way to add natural green beauty to your wedding decor is to use actual greenery. Lots of lush green garlands with a few colorful blooms peeking out looks absolutely amazing. Using leafy florals for the men's boutonnieres is a great idea for gentleman that prefer not to wear a flower. Another wonderful place for additional floral accents are the bride's and bridesmaids' hair.

Dazzling Decor
Wedding decorations are an obvious area to incorporate color, but there are lots of fun places to add it beyond the linens and centerpieces. The cake is an excellent place to let your baker get creative, and they are sure to have some wonderful ideas for interesting icing. Weddings don't often use balloons (although we have seen this done in very tasteful ways,) but a photo backdrop full of green balloons and shiny streamers would make for some memorable and festive pictures. Once the reception dancing is in full swing, you can also change all of the lighting so that the dance floor has a cool green glow.

Eco-Friendly Options
If you prefer to have a "green" wedding, meaning you want to take an approach that is environmentally friendly, here are a few simple ideas to incorporate.

  • Instead of cutting flowers for centerpieces, use pretty potted plants.
  • Get married at a venue that doesn't need a lot of extra decorating, like a beautiful garden or elaborate stained-glass-filled church.
  • Skip the favors, and if you do give them away, pick something useful that can be donated if your guests choose to leave them behind.
  • Collect RSVP's by phone, email, or a website instead of taking paper ones by mail.
  • Write wedding program information, menus, and other day-of details on reusable chalkboards instead of printing paper ones for every guest.

Color is a great way to add a lot of personality to a wedding, and there are lots of creative ways to do it. When it comes to your wedding day fashion, Angelus Bridal & Formals can always offer excellent advice in that area. When you visit our bridal salon in South Florida, tell us all about your color choices and we'll help you find some wonderful ways to work them in.

What You Should Bring To Your Wedding Dress Shopping Appointment

Last week our blog told you How To Prepare For Your Wedding Dress Shopping Appointment, and today we are focusing on the items that you should bring with you to our South Florida Bridal Salon when it is time for that appointment. It's a simple list, but these few things can make a big difference in finding your dream wedding dress.

Examples of What You Like
When you come to Angelus Bridal, bringing along a few photos of the bridal gowns that capture your attention the most will give us a good idea of what your wedding style is. This will make it easier to begin the search with wedding dresses that reflect the look you are desiring.

If you have swatches of your wedding colors, or even some of your wedding decorating plans, go ahead and bring those with you too. Your entire wedding vision just may give our talented consultants the perfect idea of a gown that matches it beautifully.

Special Wedding Day Items
Most of the time brides find their wedding dress first, and then they add matching accessory items after that. Sometimes, however, a bride already has a few items that she wants to include in her wedding day fashion before she begins shopping. Examples would be an heirloom veil or piece of jewelry that has been passed down in the family, or a fabulous pair of shoes that you fell in love with at first sight and simply need to wear on your wedding day.

If these items are already in your possession, bring them to the appointment with you. This will give you a chance to see how well they work with the different bridal gowns that you will be trying on. These items may also inspire your consultant to pull some specific wedding dresses for you to try on.

Supportive Friends
Everyone has an opinion, but in the case of your bridal gown, your opinion is the most important. Choose the people that come along with you on your shopping trip wisely. A small group of supportive friends that know your style well and have your best interests at heart can be very helpful. Avoid bringing along anyone that loves to cause drama and never has anything nice to say.

Proper Undergarments
Nude-colored undergarments work best for trying on our dresses. Remember that a consultant will probably be in the dressing room with you, since many bridal gowns aren't easy to get into alone. Wear underwear that you are comfortable wearing in front of them.

A strapless bra that offers good support is the ideal kind to wear to try on wedding dresses. Even if it's not the bra you will be wearing on the wedding day, it will give you a better idea of how the dress will fit. We have the amazing Flattering Me Bra, designed by our very own Coco Abadi, owner of Angelus Bridal & Formals, available in our store. It offers real support, natural cleavage, and amazing comfort under any special occasion dress.

An Open Mind

Even though we have suggested that you bring examples of wedding dresses you like the most, don't be afraid to try on something completely different. Bridal gowns don't look the same on different types of body shapes. Something that you love in a magazine photo may not be flattering on, and a dress that doesn't impress you on the hanger may look like it was made for you once you get into it! Your consultant has a lot of experience matching the perfect gown to our beautiful brides. She may have a suggestion that is worth trying out.

We suggest showing up already excited about your shopping trip, because once you're here we will treat you like the VIB (Very Important Bride!) that you are, doing everything in our power to create a memorable experience and a successful bridal gown search.
