Off-the-Shoulder Wedding Dresses - A Trend That We Absolutely LOVE!

Trends in fashion change often, and even if one goes away, that trend seems to make its way back around again eventually. We especially see this in our South Florida weddings dresses. Every year one or two dress elements stand out and become the most sought after, yet the difference with wedding fashion is that there is always a thread of classic and traditional looks mixed in too. Right now, a trend that many brides are in love with (and so are we at Angelus Bridal & Formals) is the off-the-shoulder bridal gown.

Brides have been searching for off-the-shoulder wedding dresses for a while now, and from the looks of the runways, this fall that look is still going to be one of the most wanted. Along with this style, we also expect to be seeing a lot of women wearing tiered skirts and embellishments such as ruffles and feathers. For today, though, we are putting our focus on those irresistible shoulder-baring dresses.

A strapless gown is a classic wedding look that will always be around, but this year the off-the-shoulder style has taken over some of that popularity. It's kind of a "hint" of shoulders rather than showing them off completely. We think that is a very mysterious and elegant look. A strapless bridal gown can have the appearance of an off-the-shoulder dress simply by adding a bridal jacket or wrap on top.

With the help of an illusion neckline, you can boast the off-the shoulder look, but with the comfort of knowing that the shoulders will stay in place during the entire celebration. Finding an expert seamstress to alter the gown exactly to your body will also help with the proper fit of any dress.

Don'g forget about the bridesmaids! This off-the-shoulder fashion will look stunning on all of your ladies too. It's always looks nice when the bridesmaid fashions compliment the bride's gown, coordinating similar elements in each to make a uniform look.

As for accessories, the runways are predicting that brides will be wearing big, bold jewelry and headpieces. You can always go a little bigger with the accessories around your face when there is less dress around your neckline. Tiaras and large floral headpieces are also an excellent way to accessorize your wedding dress.

No matter what type of gown you choose at our wedding dress store in South Florida, if you fall in love with it and make the purchase on your first trip to our bridal boutique, we will give you 20% off of your veil and headpiece. When you come in for your shopping appointment at Angelus Bridal, just ask about our "Love at first sight pays" promotion.

With that deal, your bridal party gets a discount too! Bridesmaid dresses priced at $159.95 or more are $30 off, and bridesmaid gowns priced below $159.95 are 10% off. Not only will we help you find the most fabulous wedding fashions, we'll do it at an affordable price!

Happy Customers
Here is what a couple of our past customers have had to say about their experience with us.

"I cannot say enough great things about this place. Rhonda is BEYOND helpful. She helped me find a dress ONE day before I was getting married, literally 24 hours before I was getting married, and made sure she could accommodate everything I was looking for. She was knowledgeable, compassionate, and made me VERY excited about what I was doing. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars in all of those categories, she makes you feel like you are the only person in the entire place. She made the entire experience one to never forget. It is hard to find the exceptional customer service that Rhonda provided to us on Thursday February 2, 2017. Incredible experience, she made my special day everything I could have hoped for in LESS than 24 hours. How amazing. Thanks again Rhonda!!!"

"Such a friendly store!!! The owner was so nice and accommodating. They have so many wonderful dresses to choose from. Large selection. One of the best in South Florida and totally affordable. They also do great inexpensive alterations. Love the family feel to this place.
Highly recommend putting them on your list for the search for your perfect wedding dress.

"Rhonda has seriously the best advice to give....look her up at this store she instinctively knows what you will look best in. And she is sooooo much fun.....head and shoulders above any other store experience."

"I had such an amazing experience here! Came shopping with my MOH and mother. The owner and his wife are there and have the cutest personalities. My bridal consultant was perfection: listened to what I wanted, helped me narrow down my style, and helped me find THE ONE! The pricing on their dresses is way less expensive than going down to Miracle Mile in Miami and a much more enjoyable experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anybody for wedding dress shopping."

Helpful Tips For Finding Your Perfect Wedding Day Shoes

Once you've browsed through our wonderful selection of gorgeous wedding dresses in South Florida and found the bridal gown you always dreamed of, it's time to accessorize! Many things can be added to enhance your wedding day look, like bridal belts, jewelry, headpieces, and veils. One thing in particular that you should take special care in choosing is the pair of shoes you will wear on the big day. Angelus Bridal has a few tips to help you make that decision.

Buy shoes early.
Your wedding shoes are an item that you will need to have before your first bridal gown fitting. They will affect the hem of your dress, so for a perfect gown length, you will need to have the exact shoes you will be walking down the aisle in at every fitting. Another advantage to having your shoes well before the wedding day is that you will have the chance to break them in for better comfort, plus the more you practice walking in them, the more graceful you will look walking down that aisle.

Choose comfort!
First and foremost, go for comfort. You will be wearing these shoes for a very long time and doing a lot of walking, standing, and dancing in them. That means you will need shoes that don't hurt your feet after an hour or two. Even if you've dreamed of wearing fabulous stiletto heels, if you won't be able to walk without limping the next day, it's probably not worth it.

Think hard about heel height.
This will not only affect your comfort, but also the length that your gown will need to be altered to. Try to stick to a heel height that you are used to wearing and already comfortable walking in.

Also, consider how the heel you choose will work at the venue. If you are getting married on a beach, then sandals are a wise choice, or possibly go barefoot and have a pair of shoes put aside to wear at the reception. On the other hand, if you want a higher heel and your venue has nice, flat surfaces to walk on, you should be fine.

Decide: Elaborate or Simple
This may depend on how much your shoe can be seen with the wedding dress you have chosen. For a floor-length gown, a simple shoe may be enough because it won't really show much. If the shoes will barely peek out below the hem, you might want to pamper yourself with a manicure and pretty shade of polish and go with a peep-toe shoe.

For the bride that's a bit of a shoe fanatic, a shorter dress allows you to show off an elaborately designed shoe. Make sure that it complements your bridal gown rather than competes with it for attention. If you want to add an exciting pop of color to your wedding fashion, your shoes are a great place to do that.

Pick a backup pair.
It's always good to be prepared for anything. That way you can avoid many mishaps on the wedding day. In case a heel breaks or a shoe gets left behind or misplaced, you should have a simple back-up pair of the same heel-height ready and waiting to "step" in.

Having a back-up pair of wedding day shoes also allows you to change your shoes during the celebration. Sometimes simply putting on a new pair can make tired feet feel like new again. Keep in mind, though, that if you will be changing to a more comfortable pair of shoes for the reception and have a floor-length gown, they should be the same heel height as your original pair to avoid the dress dragging the ground.

Finding the right pair of shoes not only completes your wedding day look, it can also be a lifesaver when you keep the comfort factor in mind. The helpful consultants at our South Florida bridal boutique will be happy to make some suggestions on the type of shoe that may work best with the wedding dress you decide on. Everyone at Angelus Bridal & Formals is here to help you achieve the look you are striving for to help you reach your beautiful best on the r wedding day. After all, a happy bride is our favorite kind, and happy ladies are always gorgeous!

Roles the Members of Your Wedding Party Play

A wedding is a great big, wonderful production that takes a lot of planning to accomplish. The bride and groom aren't expected to do everything by themselves, and the first people that you should turn to for help are your immediate family and the people that have agreed to be in your wedding party.

The wedding party is the couple's supports team made up of their closest friends. They care about the couple and should be happy to help anywhere that they are needed. After all, these are the the people that are almost as happy as you are about your new marriage!

Angelus Bridal & Formals has put together a list of traditional duties that the members of your wedding party take care of. Weddings of today don't always stick strictly to these "job" assignments, but they are a great starting point for deciding who will do what. Start with these lists, then adjust them to fit your specific needs.

Maid/Matron of Honor
This is the bride's right-hand-woman, serving as her personal assistant and head bridesmaid. The maid of honor is in charge of coordinating the other bridesmaids, making sure that they are kept informed about pre-wedding parties, fittings, etc... She will organize the bridal shower and bachelorette party, and she may assist the bride in finding her wedding dress.

On the wedding day, the maid of honor will help the bride get dressed, make sure her dress is bustled if needed, and prepare her for the walk down the aisle, plus straighten her gown and train for the walk back up the aisle after the ceremony. She will hold onto the groom's wedding ring, hold the bride's bouquet during the ring exchange, and sign the marriage license as a witness. During the reception, she may be asked to give a toast, and she stays near the bride to make sure her needs are taken care of.

Bridesmaids
These ladies make up "Team Bride." They should be available to assist the bride with wedding planning tasks. They help the maid of honor host and pay for the bridal shower and bachelorette party. At the wedding reception, they are there to answer guests' questions and keep the party going on the dance floor.

Best Man
This is the groom's "go-to-guy!" He serves in the role of head groomsmen, coordinating the other men in the wedding party when it comes to attire, fittings, and suit rentals. He is the one in charge of organizing the groom's bachelor party.

The best man is tasked with making sure that the groom gets to the church on time, and in good shape. He will hold the bride's ring, and he will sign the marriage license after the ceremony. If the officiant is not paid prior to the wedding, he will make sure the officiant receives a payment envelope after the ceremony.

At the reception, the best man is there to assist the groom with anything he may need, and he will organize the toasts being made, starting with one of his own. Lastly, he will make sure the getaway car is ready for the couple before they leave, and the best man is in charge of making sure that any suit rentals are returned.

Groomsmen
These fellas are the men that assist the best man in making sure the groom is taken care of. They will help to host and pay for the bachelor party. They may greet guests before the ceremony begins, and at the reception they will make sure everyone is having a good time.

Ushers
If you will not have ushers in your wedding party, the groomsmen can step into this role. They are there to make sure guests find their seats for the ceremony, release the rows after the ceremony, and make sure everyone knows where to go for the reception.

Flower Girl
Today we have seen flower girls of every age, even grandmothers! Generally though, this role is filled with a young girl. Her job is to sprinkle flower petals down the ceremony aisle for the bride to walk upon on the way to her groom. Your flower girl should attend the rehearsal to get comfortable with what will be happening on the wedding day. Introducing her to the rest of the wedding party can help to make her feel more at ease when it is time to walk down the aisle.

Ring Bearer
A young boy is often asked to carry the couple's rings down the aisle to hand to the maid of honor and best man. A pillow with ribbons to tie the rings to is a classic way to transport them, or he may carry an elegant box with the rings inside. If you don't want to trust your wedding rings to someone so young, it is not uncommon to use symbolic rings in their place. He should also attend the wedding rehearsal so that he knows what will happen and get can comfortable with the rest of the wedding party.

Your wedding party is there to make sure your wedding dreams come true after all of that planning you have done leading up to the big day. Let them help with the details to make it easier for you to relax and enjoy it all.

Our Pompano Beach bridal salon is here to make sure all of your wedding fashion dreams come true! Not only will we make sure you find the bridal gown you have been dreaming of, we can also help you outfit everyone else in your wedding. We carry the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses in South Florida, and if you take advantage of our "Love At First Sight" promotion, your bridesmaids can get a discount on the price of their gowns.

Angelus Bridal & Formals also carries gorgeous gowns for the mothers of the bride and groom, plus we have an in-house tuxedo shop so that you can make sure all of the men in your wedding look their best too. Make an appointment soon to come in and see everything we have for your very special day.
