6 Simple New Year's Resolutions For Anyone Planning A Wedding

A lot goes into planning a wedding, and many couples let it overwhelm them. This should be a fun and exciting time full of memories, not stress. For everyone out there planning a wedding right now, Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few ideas for New Year's Resolutions you can add to your list that may make the wedding planning process a little easier.

Work as a Team
A husband and wife are an incredible team, and that teamwork doesn't have to wait until after you say "I do" to begin. Make a promise to each other that you will tackle all of those wedding planning tasks together. They will get done twice as quickly, plus there is a better chance both of your styles will be represented in the final look and feel of the event.

The people in your wedding party and family members that you can rely on are wonderful additions to your team too. There are lots of things that need to get done before the big day, and the more hands helping, the less you have to worry about. If they're willing to help, let them.

Trust Your Vendors
Another important part of your wedding planning team are the vendors that you hire. Even though you may not have known them before you started planning the wedding, these people are professionals and know what they are doing. If you didn't like their work or had a strange feeling about them, you probably would have hired someone else. Let yourself trust your vendors' suggestions. You don't have to allow them to change your mind about things that are important to you, but they will have some great ideas that are worth considering.

Have an Organization Plan
The more organized you are, the easier it will be to get everything done. Keep every bit of your wedding information and ideas all in one place. Have a binder put together with important contact information, brochures, magazine photos you like, and other paper items, and keep that binder in a place that you and your fiance always have access to it. Also keeping all of that information in a shared file on your computer or in a wedding app makes it easy for you to add to and access the information you need no matter where you are, plus there is no chance of misplacing an app.

Don't Procrastinate
Strive to tackle a set amount of tasks each day. When you have free time, check that binder to see if there are any quick items on your to-do list that can be accomplished. Multi-task when possible, like stuffing and addressing invitations while you watch TV.

One big item on your to-do list is making the guest list. You may dread having to pick and choose who will be invited to your wedding, but know that once that list is complete, you will know the size of the wedding you are planning for and be able to make a lot of other decisions. Every time you mark an item off of your list, it's going to make another item on that list easier to accomplish.

Stick to Your Budget
Promise yourself to stick as closely as possible to the wedding budget you decided on. Nothing can ruin the memory of a wonderful wedding faster than a stack of bills waiting after the celebration that will take you much longer to pay off than you planned for.

Creativity, imagination, and talented wedding vendors can create an exquisite wedding at an affordable price. After all, the goal of the day is to marry the person you love, and years from now the size of your centerpieces probably won't matter to you at all. Pick the parts of the wedding that you care most about and spend your budgeted money there, and when it comes to the things that don't really matter to you, don't spend what you don't have to.

Enjoy the Process
The very best thing that you can do for yourself is to remember to have fun and enjoy every moment of this time in your life. When you start to feel overwhelmed, remember the big picture. At the end of this
entire process, you get to spend the rest of your life with the person you love most!

If you find yourself stressing out, take a break. Even better, take a break with your fiance to remind each other why you are doing this in the first place. Don't sweat the small stuff either. If the napkins are only available in ivory instead of white, it's not going to ruin your day. Small things like what your guests will be wiping their mouths on really won't even be noticed by most people. Laugh it off and smile because, hey, you're getting married! Nothing should be able to ruin the joy of that.

Having a few moments of stress here and there are probably unavoidable, but make a promise to yourself that when that happens you will take a step back, take a deep breath, remember the reason for it all, smile, and move on. When you are ready to plan the fashion portion of your special day, our South Florida bridal boutique is here to make that part of the process as fun and easy as possible.

Our talented consultants will be with you every step of the way during your shopping appointment, and their knowledge and expertise will help guide you to the wedding dress that was made just for you. Angelus Bridal & Formals is here to make sure that this portion of the planning process is one that you will enjoy while it is happening and look back on with fond memories.

7 Bridal Beauty Tips for Fabulous Fingernails and Smooth Hands

Even though all eyes will be on your beautiful wedding dress throughout the wedding day, a lot of your guests will also want to get a good look at the beautiful new ring you have on your finger. For that reason, Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few tips to make sure your wedding day hands are as gorgeous as the rest of you.

Don't Put It Off
Even if your wedding is a year away, there's no time like the present to get into a good routine for taking care of your hands and nails. Once it becomes a habit, this is a routine that you can benefit from for the rest of your life. It may take a couple of months to get your desired nail shape. Once you have it, you'll want to make sure those nails are strong and healthy enough to hold that shape.

Moisturize Often
Use hand lotion that contains SPF daily and exfoliate regularly to keep your skin soft and smooth. Give those cuticles some extra-special attention too. It may take months to get them where they need to be. This is where your nails grow from, and the healthier your cuticle is, the better chance you have for a healthy nail. After you shower and the cuticles are still soft, gently push them back, and use a conditioner on them nightly before you go to bed. Never cut them. If there is the risk of a hangnail, it's best to use a cuticle remover or let a professional take care of it.

File Gently
Cut your nails slightly longer than your desired length so that they won't be too short when you file them. Always file in one direction, straight across the nail rather than back and forth. You can file lightly around the edges to clean up any snags or rough spots. Once a month it's okay to gently buff them for a smooth, shiny finish, but any more than that could cause weakening of the nail.

Polish Wisely
Always apply a base coat before putting on nail polish. This is how you keep your nails from staining. When you are ready to take the polish off, only use removers that are non-acetone or soy-based. Acetone removers are meant to be used to take off acrylic nails and gels. If you need to have that type of nail taken off, let a pro do it. Just make sure you don't have that done too close to the wedding day.

Take Your Vitamins
A daily dose of healthy vitamins and minerals is important to your overall health, which includes your hands and nails. Vitamin B and biotin capsules are especially great for your nails. They allow your body to better metabolize fats, proteins, and amino acids which boost your nail's hardness, elasticity, and sheen.

Cover Them Up
If you can't talk your fiance into handling all of the household chores involving cleaners and chemicals, make sure that you wear gloves to protect all of that hard work you've been putting into the beauty of your hands and nails. If you are in a cold climate, gloves are great for helping to keep hands from chapping and drying out, along with a good moisturizing routine.

Leave the Final Look to a Pro
Your wedding day manicure should be scheduled a few days before the big event. A manicurist knows all the best tricks and tips to make the hand that will be wearing that wedding ring look its absolute best. Make sure that you have a bottle of the correct shade of polish to take home with you for any last minute touch-ups that may be needed.

Following a regular healthy routine for a few months before the wedding should result in breathtaking hands and nails for showing off your brand new ring. While you're at it, get your husband-to-be to begin his own skin and nail routine. His hands will be highlighted in some of your wedding photos, plus it's always fun to partner with someone when you start something new. Complete the look by slipping into an exquisite wedding dress from our South Florida bridal salon, and no one will be able to take their eyes off of you!

3 Things To Look For In A Bridesmaid Dress

Your beautiful bridal gown is the most important fashion item you will need to pick out for your wedding day, but once you've made that decision, it's time to start thinking about your bridal party. We offer some of the most exquisite bridesmaid dresses in South Florida. There are lots and lots of gorgeous gowns to choose from in our shop, so today Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few things to keep in mind when you begin the search.

Style
While you don't want your bridesmaids wearing the exact same style you'll be walking down the aisle in, it does look nice to find something similar for them to wear. Your wedding party will look their best as a whole when the fashions compliment each other.

Decide if you prefer the ladies to wear the exact same dress or different styles that tie into each other somehow. Bridesmaids not matching exactly is a very popular look, and it's a wonderful way to make sure that everyone finds a style that is most flattering on their particular body type. The key is to have at least one element of the dress that brings them all together into one cohesive look, such as picking gowns that are different complimentary colors but all the same length, or possibly all dresses that are strapless.

Comfort
Comfort is a very important factor to look for in a bridesmaid dress. Your lovely ladies will be wearing this particular gown for a very long time on your wedding day, and if their dress is uncomfortable, it will be difficult to look their best in all of those wedding photos. They will need to be able to move around easily in them too, to help you with tasks throughout the day and dance the night away at the reception.

Price
The sky may be the limit when it comes to your wedding dress, but this is your special day, so spending a little more than you normally would on a gown is most likely in your budget. Your bridesmaids, on the other hand, may not all have the funds to spend a lot on their dresses. It would be terrible if one of your friends had to say no to being a bridesmaid because it cost too much.

Be mindful of what you are asking everyone to spend, remembering that they also have to buy the accessories to go with it, plus wedding and shower gifts too. They can still look amazing without spending a fortune! We have many affordable bridesmaid dresses at our Pompano Beach bridal boutique in a variety of styles and colors.

After you let Angelus Bridal & Formals help you find the wedding dress of your dreams, make an appointment to bring in all of your bridesmaids to try on gorgeous gowns to wear next to you on the wedding day. Our goal is to make sure that everyone looks their beautiful best. While your group is here, every one of them will have the consultant's undivided attention during the appointment, and they will use their knowledge and talent to help you find something absolutely perfect for everyone.

Gift Ideas For Your Husband, Wife, or Fiance

This time of year, even if you are in the midst of planning a wedding, you have to make some time to think about what to buy for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Sometimes the person that's the most difficult to figure out is the one you are closest to! Today, Angelus Bridal & Formals has come up with some thoughtful gift ideas that your significant other will love, no matter whether you are already married are planning to be soon.

A Basket of Their Favorite Things
Instead of racking your brain for that one perfect gift that they don't already have, instead get them more of the things you already know that they love. It could be a book by their favorite author, a piece of clothing or jewelry from that store that they love, movie tickets, favorite foods or drinks, silly socks or slippers, etc... Anything that you know puts a smile on their face and they simply can't get enough of can be included.

Acts of Kindness
Instead of buying something for them, do a few somethings instead. Tackle their least favorite chore before they get the chance. Make dinner and clean up after, or get up early and surprise them with breakfast in bed. Plan a night out where all they have to do is show up because you've taken care of every last detail. If you don't think coupon books are too cheesy, put a few of these things in there and let your special someone pick when they want to cash them in. Another wonderful way to surprise them is by hiding special love notes in a variety of places for them to find.

Hire Some Help
Rather than taking on a task that your spouse or fiance hates, hire someone to do it for the both of you instead. Find someone to clean the entire house, detail the car, come to your home and cook a meal for the two of you, or if you already have kids, call a babysitter and take the night off. In many cases, this is a gift that you get to enjoy along with the recipient!

Relive a Memory
Plan a special evening, a whole day, or even an entire weekend reliving a memory that means a lot to the two of you. It could be a visit to the place where you first met, a reenactment of your first date, or if you're already married, a return to the spot where you said, "I do."

Photographs
A brand new photo of you to carry with them or place on their desk is a gift that no one else will be giving them. You could also surprise them with a special photo from the wedding or engagement shoot that they haven't seen yet. Another wonderful photo gift is an album with pictures from your time together over the years.

A Gift That Keeps Giving
There are lots of subscription services out there nowadays that let you sign someone up to receive packages at set intervals throughout the year. An online search for "gift subscriptions" will take you to a plethora of ideas. Some of the things they can bring right to your door are: cooking ingredients with recipes, books, movies, board games, craft supplies, wine, bourbon, clothing, makeup, grooming supplies, etc... Seriously, just about anything you could imagine! There are even some companies that will send scavenger hunt clues to your phone so you can explore your city together.

A "Mixtape"
The classic romantic gesture - a mixtape of all of your favorite songs or songs that express how you feel about your significant other! Today most people don't have a cassette tape handy to play an actual mixtape, but you can download a bunch of music and organize it into a playlist for your special someone. Maybe even make a few playlists for different situations: their workout time, commute to work, relaxation time, etc...

Hopefully that gets your creative juices flowing for a gift your husband, wife, or fiance will love. If you are in the fiance stage of your relationship, grooms can find some lovely fashion items for their future brides at our South Florida bridal store, such as jewelry for the wedding or a special occasion dress for a fancy night out on the town. Good luck shopping, and have a wonderful holiday season from all of us here at Angelus Bridal
