3 MORE Bridal Beauty Tips To Get You Wedding-Ready

Last week's blog offered 3 Bridal Beauty Tips To Get You Wedding-Ready, and today our Pompano Beach wedding dress store is following up with 3 more healthy habits to begin before your special day. Not only will you look even better than your already beautiful self, but you'll feel better too!

Watch What You Eat
Don't necessarily eat less, just make sure that you eat better. Change your eating habits to include healthier choices. It is completely possible to enjoy meals that are delicious and filling but not packed with calories, fats, and other things you should try to avoid having too much of. Try your best to stay away from sugars, processed foods, and anything that is high in sodium, which can cause puffiness, bloating, and a lack of energy.

Drink lots (and lots) of water, which is great for the inside of your body and also for the skin on the outside. Occasionally allow a "cheat meal" to reward yourself for taking on these new healthy eating habits.

Exercise
If you put off exercising until you run out of time for it each day, start doing it first thing in the morning. Get up early if you have to. Getting it out of the way early will motivate you and provide extra energy for the rest of the day. Having workout buddies, like your bridesmaids or your fiance, can make it easier to accomplish and a lot more fun. Aim to tackle both cardio and strength training, giving special focus to any areas that your wedding dress will show off like your upper arms or back.

Get Stress Under Control

A healthy mind contributes to a healthy body. Wedding planning can be a stressful task, but keeping that stress under control will help you to stay on track with the planning and with the tips we have suggested above. Find out what works the best for you: yoga, meditation, running, a bike ride, reading, etc... and work that into your daily schedule. Pencil it into your calendar if you have to. Make sure that you have a regular sleep routine in place too. A good night's sleep reduces stress, gives you energy, improves memory, and can even aid in weight loss.

If you are wishing to lose a significant amount of weight before the wedding day, we highly suggest that you buy a wedding dress that fits you right now. It is a lot easier and much less expensive for a seamstress to make a dress smaller than to try to add fabric to make it bigger if you do not lose all of the weight you were hoping to.

The talented consultants at our bridal boutique in South Florida are experts at finding gowns for women of every size and shape that accentuate their best assets. Let Angelus Bridal put you in the perfect wedding dress that will bring out the natural beauty you already are. Adding the beauty tips above to the mix will only make your current gorgeous even more amazing!

Bridal Beauty Tips To Get You Wedding-Ready

Everyone wants to look their absolute best at their wedding, so an upcoming marriage is an excellent motivation to get into great shape. Picking up a few new healthy habits in the months leading up to the big day will not only help you to look amazing in that gorgeous gown you found at our South Florida bridal salon, but it will also get you into a routine that will greatly benefit you after the wedding too. Here are the first 3 of 6 tips from us at Angelus Bridal & Formals to help you get started.

Brighten That Smile
This is a joyous and exciting time in your life, so lots of smiling will be going on! Getting your teeth their whitest before all of those wedding photos are taken will make that beautiful smile shine even brighter. There are many kinds of toothpaste and whitening strips available that you can do on your own at home, or you can have a dentist take care of it professionally. Either process will take some time, so start as early as possible.

Once your smile is once again bright and beaming, don't ruin all of that work it took to get your teeth there. At least until the wedding is over, try to avoid foods and drinks that will restain them, like coffee or red wine. If you must drink these, using a straw can help to keep dark drinks away from your teeth.

Enhance Your Skincare Routine
This tip is not only for your face but also all of the other skin covering your entire body. Avoid using harsh soaps and instead choose cleansers that are made for specific areas of skin. Always pat your skin dry, never rub it with the towel, and always moisturize. You'll want to eliminate rough patches now, like on your heels and elbows, so that they are soft and smooth by the time the wedding day rolls around. Don't forget those lips too! Exfoliate them to remove any dry skin and keep them well moisturized.

If you will be sugaring or waxing to remove hair, try a treatment long enough before the wedding that you can see how your body will react to it. That will let you know the best time to have it done before the wedding day so that your skin does not look irritated. You might want to start using a self-tanner too so that your skin will have a nice, light glow about it.

Get Your Nails Into Shape
Everyone will want to get a look at your lovely engagement ring, so making sure that your hands and nails look their best is one of the first things that you should take care of. (Find additional tips in our blog "7 Bridal Beauty Tips for Fabulous Fingernails and Smooth Hands.") You'll want them to look great for the wedding ring photos too. Give yourself mini-manicures regularly to keep them in shape between trips to the salon.

Those 3 bridal beauty tips are a great place to start, and next week Angelus Bridal will have 3 more Bridal Beauty Tips To Get You Wedding-Ready. One additional tip that we can offer you today is to use the buddy system to motivate yourself to start a healthy routine and keep it up. Your bridesmaids will most likely want to look their best in those fabulous bridesmaid dresses you found at our bridal boutique in Pompano Beach. Your future husband could benefit from many of these tips too. Healthy habits started now can help the two of you to live a long life together.

7 Bridal Beauty Tips for Fabulous Fingernails and Smooth Hands

Even though all eyes will be on your beautiful wedding dress throughout the wedding day, a lot of your guests will also want to get a good look at the beautiful new ring you have on your finger. For that reason, Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few tips to make sure your wedding day hands are as gorgeous as the rest of you.

Don't Put It Off
Even if your wedding is a year away, there's no time like the present to get into a good routine for taking care of your hands and nails. Once it becomes a habit, this is a routine that you can benefit from for the rest of your life. It may take a couple of months to get your desired nail shape. Once you have it, you'll want to make sure those nails are strong and healthy enough to hold that shape.

Moisturize Often
Use hand lotion that contains SPF daily and exfoliate regularly to keep your skin soft and smooth. Give those cuticles some extra-special attention too. It may take months to get them where they need to be. This is where your nails grow from, and the healthier your cuticle is, the better chance you have for a healthy nail. After you shower and the cuticles are still soft, gently push them back, and use a conditioner on them nightly before you go to bed. Never cut them. If there is the risk of a hangnail, it's best to use a cuticle remover or let a professional take care of it.

File Gently
Cut your nails slightly longer than your desired length so that they won't be too short when you file them. Always file in one direction, straight across the nail rather than back and forth. You can file lightly around the edges to clean up any snags or rough spots. Once a month it's okay to gently buff them for a smooth, shiny finish, but any more than that could cause weakening of the nail.

Polish Wisely
Always apply a base coat before putting on nail polish. This is how you keep your nails from staining. When you are ready to take the polish off, only use removers that are non-acetone or soy-based. Acetone removers are meant to be used to take off acrylic nails and gels. If you need to have that type of nail taken off, let a pro do it. Just make sure you don't have that done too close to the wedding day.

Take Your Vitamins
A daily dose of healthy vitamins and minerals is important to your overall health, which includes your hands and nails. Vitamin B and biotin capsules are especially great for your nails. They allow your body to better metabolize fats, proteins, and amino acids which boost your nail's hardness, elasticity, and sheen.

Cover Them Up
If you can't talk your fiance into handling all of the household chores involving cleaners and chemicals, make sure that you wear gloves to protect all of that hard work you've been putting into the beauty of your hands and nails. If you are in a cold climate, gloves are great for helping to keep hands from chapping and drying out, along with a good moisturizing routine.

Leave the Final Look to a Pro
Your wedding day manicure should be scheduled a few days before the big event. A manicurist knows all the best tricks and tips to make the hand that will be wearing that wedding ring look its absolute best. Make sure that you have a bottle of the correct shade of polish to take home with you for any last minute touch-ups that may be needed.

Following a regular healthy routine for a few months before the wedding should result in breathtaking hands and nails for showing off your brand new ring. While you're at it, get your husband-to-be to begin his own skin and nail routine. His hands will be highlighted in some of your wedding photos, plus it's always fun to partner with someone when you start something new. Complete the look by slipping into an exquisite wedding dress from our South Florida bridal salon, and no one will be able to take their eyes off of you!

How To Avoid Frizzy Wedding Day Hair

There is an ancient proverb that goes, "A misty morning does not signify a cloudy day, it signifies frizzy hair." If you have the type of hair that "puffs up" when it gets too humid outside, you might be more worried about frizzy hair than rain on your wedding day. August just happens to be Anti-Frizz Month, so it seemed like the perfect time for us at Angelus Bridal & Formals to offer a few tips on how to tame your hair for the wedding day.

What exactly is frizz?
"Frizz" is what happens when the cuticle layer of your hair is raised, which allows moisture to pass through it and swell the strands larger than they normally appear. Women with curly hair tend to have more trouble with this than those with straight hair because curly hair is naturally drier. Sometimes frizz is the result of hair damage from heat styling or chemical treatments. How can you remedy this if it happens to you? Try the following tips.

Find the right stylist.
The most important thing that you can do to assure the best wedding day hair is to find a hairstylist that knows how to handle your particular type of hair. Not all of them are experts at anti-frizz, and if this is a problem for you, not just any stylist will do.

An expert on your particular type of hair will be able to make suggestions on the best style for your wedding day to avoid any trouble the weather could cause. They can also give you advice on how to properly take care of your hair on a daily basis to keep the frizz to a minimum. You might also consider keeping your stylist on-hand throughout the wedding day to make touch-ups as necessary, or at least have some extra bobby pins and a small can of hair spray close by all night to tackle any "fly-away" hairs.

Proper Hair Care
The way that you wash, dry, and even comb your hair plays a big part in how it reacts to daily living. Using a sulfate-free, glycerin-packed shampoo is great for hydrating the hair from the inside out. When it comes to using conditioner, apply it from mid-shaft down to the ends. Putting conditioner directly on your roots can weigh the hair down.

Next, run a wide-tooth comb, not a brush, through damp hair while it is still conditioning. When you're ready to dry it, gently blot hair with a towel, never rub it. This raises the cuticles, which causes more frizz. Lastly, let your hair air-dry as much as possible before blowing it dry. The heat from the dryer can damage it too.

Condition Regularly
Hot oil treatments and a weekly hydrating mask go the extra mile for keeping your hair from being dry and frizzy. There are lots of products out there specifically made to keep hair looking smooth and shiny. Once again, your hairstylist should be able to give you some excellent advice based on your particular hair needs. Then, the two of you can decide on the perfect hairstyle for your special day.

Our bridal boutique in South Florida can help you find the bridal headpieces, hair accessories, and veils to complement that perfect frizz-free hairstyle. Once you've picked out your dream dress, one of our the consultants at Angelus Bridal can show you the accessories that bring your beautiful bridal gown up to to a whole new, exquisite level.

7 Helpful Tips For Beautiful Bridal Nails

Your first impression as a bride walking down the aisle is the beautiful wedding dress that you will be wearing. Everyone can see that from a distance. It's after the ceremony, when you are hugging all of your guests and accepting their heartfelt congratulations, that they begin noticing the details of your wedding day fashion. One thing in particular that they will all be asking to see is that fabulous new wedding ring. Angelus Bridal has a few tips to make sure your hands are in perfect shape for showing off that incredible ring.

Start Now!
If your hands and nails aren't in their best possible shape, find a routine that you can stick with as soon as possible to get them where you want them to be. It can take a couple of months to reach the desired nail shape, and once you do, you'll want them to be strong and healthy enough to hold that shape. Even if you don't have the time or the budget to visit a nail salon regularly, there are plenty of things that you can do on your own to help the process.

Moisturize
Use hand lotion with SPF daily and exfoliate regularly to keep the skin soft and smooth. Take extra special care of those cuticles. It can take months to get them where they need to be, and this is where your nails grow from. The healthier you keep the cuticles, the better it is for a healthy nail.

Gently push them back with a towel after your shower while they are still soft. Use a cuticle conditioner on them every night before you go to bed. Never cut your cuticles unless there is the risk of a hangnail. It's best to use a cuticle remover or let a professional take care of it rather then trimming.

File Carefully
When you trim your nails, always cut them slightly longer than you want them to be. Next, file, but only in one direction straight across the nail rather than back and forth. Then lightly file around the edges to clean up any snags or rough spots. Once a month you can gently buff the nails to give them a smooth, shiny finish, but more than that could cause weakening.

Polish Wisely
Never apply nail polish without first using a base coat. This will keep your nails from staining. When you are ready to remove that nail polish, only use removers that are non-acetone or soy-based. Acetone removers are meant to be used to take off acrylic nails and gels. If you need to have that type of nail taken off, let a pro take care of it, but not too close to the wedding day.

Take Your Vitamins
Making sure that you get your daily dose of healthy vitamins and minerals is important to your general health. Vitamin B and biotin capsules are especially great for your nails because they allow your body to better metabolize fats, proteins, and amino acids. These boost your nail's hardness, elasticity, and sheen.

Wear Gloves
If you need to handle household cleaners or other chemicals, wear gloves so that they don't ruin the progress you've made on your hands and nails. Better yet, talk that future hubby into helping you out with the chores until after the wedding! (Hopefully after the wedding too!)

Schedule Your Bridal Manicure
You will want to have your manicure for the wedding done a few days before the event. Make sure that you have a bottle of the correct shade of polish for any last minute touch-ups needed.

Following a regular, healthy routine a few months before your wedding day should result in breathtaking hands and nails for showing off your new ring. Your husband's hands will be highlighted in a few of the wedding photos too, so it's not a bad idea to try to get him on board with the routine for himself. Then you will both have the most fantastic hands and nails to compliment that gorgeous Angelus Bridal wedding dress that you are wearing. Now that you look so great, keep the routine going after your wedding day too.

Pre-Wedding Day Beauty Tips for Brides

An upcoming wedding is great motivation to get your mind, skin, and body into the best shape of your life. Beginning a good health regimen to look your very best in that fashionable wedding dress is a wonderful way to begin good habits that you can continue long after the wedding day. Here are a few tips from Angelus Bridal & Formals to help you love the way you look.

Healthier Eating Choices
The best way to diet is not by starving yourself, but by changing your eating habits to include healthier choices. It is possible to enjoy meals that are delicious and filling, yet still good for you. Preparing meals in advance will help you to stay on track and not grab something fattening because you are in a hurry.

Lots of fruits and green vegetables are great to add to every meal, and make sure you are drinking lots of water. Do your best to avoid sugars, processed foods, and anything that is high in sodium, which can cause puffiness, bloating, and lack of energy. Occasionally allow yourself a "cheat meal" to reward yourself for these new healthy eating habits.

Regular Exercise
If you put off exercising until you run out of time for it each day, start doing it first thing in the morning. Get up early if you have to. Getting it out of the way early will motivate you and provide extra energy for the rest of the day. Join up with a partner, like your bridesmaids or your fiance, so you can motivate each other. It's important to do both cardio and strength training. Focus on areas that your wedding dress shows off, like the upper arms or your back.

Amp Up Your Skincare Routine
Get in the habit of taking special care of your skin on a daily basis well before the wedding day, and continue this long after that date too. Your older self will be very happy that you started now. Choosing cleansers that are made for specific areas of skin rather than harsh soaps is important, and always moisturize. Eliminate rough patches of skin now, like on your heels and elbows. Don't forget those lips!! You've got a very important first kiss coming up. Exfoliate them to remove dry skin and keep them moisturized.

Plan for hair removal too. If you are new to sugaring or waxing, try a treatment long enough before the wedding that you know how your body will react to it. Have a professional shape up your eyebrows. Start using a self-tanner so that your skin will have a nice, light glow about it.

Clean Up Those Nails
Take good care of your hands and nails. Give yourself mini-manicures regularly to keep them in their best shape. The final manicure before the wedding will go perfectly when your hands and nails are already in excellent condition.

Brighten Your Smile
There are plenty of toothpastes and whitening strips available to do yourself, or you can make an appointment to have a dentist whiten your teeth professionally. You will want to begin early enough to get to the level of whiteness you desire. Once you are there, be careful about not ruining the work you already put into your teeth. Avoid foods that will re-stain them, like coffee and red wine. If you must drink these, using a straw can help to keep dark drinks away from your teeth.

Get Stress Under Control
A healthy mind contributes to a healthy body. Keeping your stress under control during wedding planning will also help you to stay on track with everything we have suggested above. Find something that lets you relax: yoga, meditation, running, a bike ride, reading, etc... Make sure that you have a regular sleep routine in place too. A good night's sleep reduces stress, gives you energy, improves memory, and can even aid in weight loss.

Taking care of yourself is something that you should do every day of your life, and a wedding is an excellent time to motivate yourself to begin some healthy, life-long habits. If you hope to lose a significant amount of weight before the wedding day, we still highly suggest that you buy a wedding dress that fits now. It is a lot easier, and less expensive, for a seamstress to make a dress smaller than to try to add fabric and make it bigger if you don't lose all of the weight you were hoping to.

The consultants at our South Florida bridal boutique are skilled in finding gowns for women of every size and shape that accentuate their best traits and hide any they do not wish to share. Let Angelus Bridal & Formals put you into a bridal gown that brings out the natural beauty you already are, then add your new healthy routine to the mix and make your current gorgeous even more amazing!
