Our Best Publicity Is Our Last Customer

One of our favorite sayings here at Angelus Bridal & Formals is "Our best publicity is our last customer." Shoppers tend to trust other people's real-life experiences. We can tell you how wonderful we think our South Florida bridal salon is until we're blue in the face, but you are much more likely to trust the unbiased opinion of someone that does not work here.

Our past customers have no reason to sing our praises unless we have earned it, and earning their trust and love is exactly what we strive to do each and every time that someone walks through our doors. We can usually tell that we are doing our job by the happy smile on a woman's face when she finds "THE dress," but it's their kind reviews that let us know for sure.

If you have been wondering exactly what a shopping experience is like at Angelus Bridal & Formals, take a look at what these women have to say about theirs.

"Is there a way to give SIX stars, how about SEVEN? That's how great this store and staff are! A huge selection of dresses with lots of space in the multiple dressing rooms and mirror pedestals. I truly felt like I was the only bride there (even though I know others were in the store). Yoli was a dream, a true gift to have help my mother and I! She was caring, attentive, and has a wonderful eye for style with still keeping my budget in mind. I took almost 2 hours deciding on the perfect dress, and I never felt rushed or hurried. When I finally made my choice, the whole store made me feel very special by having me ring the bell and take pictures with the bouquet! I am truly overwhelmed with how welcomed this store made me feel, and I hope this review leads another bride to be able to have the special experience I was able to enjoy today. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!"

"THEY ARE AMAZING. I needed a larger dress and they had an incredible selection. I felt comfortable and beautiful and was able to get a dress on the first visit. It was exactly what I was looking for."

9 Romantic Christmas Traditions From Around The World

Christmas is just around the corner, and 'tis the season for many wedding proposals to take place. As a matter of fact, between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day, there is a large rise in the number of people "popping THE question."

It could be due to the festive nature of the season, or possibly the fact that most family and friends are gathered together already and able to share in the joy. Angelus Bridal & Formals decided to look up a few romantic traditions associated with Christmas, and this is what we found.

Belarus
Here they trust a rooster to choose who will be married next. Piles of corn are placed at the feet of single ladies. The rooster is then released, and the next bride-to-be is the one whose corn pile he chooses.

Austria
St. Barbara's Day is celebrated on December 4th every year in Austria. On this particular day, unmarried women are encouraged to place a single cherry twig in a glass of water. If she is lucky enough to have it bloom before Christmas Eve, then good luck is coming her way, and very likely, marriage.

Czech Republic
Make sure no one is standing too close to you if you give this tradition a try! Single women toss a shoe over their shoulder, and the way it lands says a lot. If the toe points towards the front door, a wedding is in your future.

Poland
During the Christmas Eve supper in Poland, straw is placed underneath the tablecloth. This symbolizes the birth of Jesus in a manger. Guests at the table take turns pulling out a piece of straw. If your straw is green, luck and marriage are coming. If it's yellow, expect to be single for another year.

Ukraine
We've heard before that finding a spider on your wedding dress is good luck, That could be due to this tale. Once upon a time, some spiders overheard a widow sadly state that she could not afford to decorate her Christmas tree. The spiders took it upon themselves to weave their beautiful webs all over the tree, giving it a festive and natural beauty. To this day, people in the Ukraine hide a spider in their tree for good luck.

Sweden
Unmarried people in Sweden need to choose their Christmas rice pudding bowls carefully. If they want to be married within the year, they need to find the bowl with an almond in it.

Greece
In Thessaly, boys take a cedar branch and girls take a white cherry branch. These are then held over a fire. The branch that burns the fastest is not only the one expecting good luck in their future, but also an impending marriage.

United Kingdom
Supposedly, a kiss under the mistletoe became a popular Christmas tradition around the 18th century in England. Mistletoe is the Druid symbol of fertility. You'll find this frisky greenery hanging in many homes here in the U.S.A. too.

Finland
This particular tradition takes place on New Year's Day rather than at Christmas. People get together to pour molten tin into buckets of cold water. The shapes that are formed when the tin cools are used to predict each person's future. If you end up with a heart or a ring, love is on its way!

Some of you may believe wholeheartedly in traditions like these, and others may find them preposterous. Either way, we think they're kind of fun. If you give any of these a try this year and end up with wedding bells in your future, make one of your first wedding planning stops at our South Florida bridal salon. With the wide variety of sizes, styles, and affordable choices for wedding fashions at Angelus Bridal & Formals, you are bound to find something to absolutely fall in love with.

7 Tips For Dressing The Gentlemen In Your Wedding

Our South Florida bridal salon mostly focuses on how to find the most fantastic fashions for all of the women in your wedding, especially the beautiful bride. The gentlemen will be standing up front with all of the gorgeous gals, so you will want to spend some time making sure that the groom and all of his groomsmen look amazing too. Angelus Bridal & Formals has a few tips to make sure the groom and his fellas look their wedding day best.

Discuss the men's fashion as a couple
Even if you have a groom that is happy leaving all of the wedding decisions up to the bride, the clothing that he and his groomsmen will be wearing is one area that really needs his input. After all, he's the one that will have to spend the entire day and evening wearing whatever gets picked out. Just like you have strong opinions about your beautiful bridal gown, the groom will most likely want to have a say in how he will look on the wedding day. Talking it over together will help him to better match the style of the wedding that is being planned.

Let the wedding style influence the clothing
There are a large variety of choices for men these days other than the classic tuxedo. Your overall wedding style and the women's fashions should play a part in guiding what the gentlemen will wear. The entire wedding party's looks should compliment each other. The formality and season will also dictate the choices. An evening ceremony in a fancy ballroom will require the guys to go all out with ties, jackets, cummerbunds, etc..., and a summer ceremony on the beach will allow for a more casual, laid back look.

To rent or to buy?
If all of the men are wearing matching clothing, the groomsmen will most likely be renting their attire. It's the groom's big day though, so he may want to think about buying his clothing. Even though whatever he wears should look similar to the rest of the guys, he's the other star of the show that day, so the groom's suit can have a little extra pizzazz.

No matter whether you end up renting or buying, it is extremely important to have all measurements taken by a professional. That way you know that everything will fit the way it is supposed to. The groom especially needs to make sure that whatever he wears fits as perfectly as possible.

Remember comfort
The same thing that we always tell the brides is important for the groom to remember too: you will be wearing your wedding day clothing for a very long time. Above all else, make sure that you choose something you can be comfortable in for the entire celebration. The men will want to look great, but still be able to move around on the dance floor without restriction or discomfort.

Be aware of the weather expected for the wedding day too, especially if any of the event is outdoors. A suit coat can get hot quickly on a sunny summer day. Another extremely important tip is to break in the shoes. Nothing is more uncomfortable than a stiff pair of shoes, and it can make a person look like they don't know how to walk.

Don't procrastinate
Men don't have to get their shopping done as early as the ladies, but don't wait too late into the planning either. At least 3 months before the wedding date you should have something picked out and all of the men should be fitted. Taking care of that later could result in paying higher prices due to rush shipping, and your first choice of fashion may not be available any longer. Start watching the men's clothing stores early and you may end up stumbling upon a sale before the wedding.

Be prepared
Don't assume that you can depend on the kindness of strangers, or even close friends, on your wedding day when it comes to tying a tie. If you don't already know how to do it, there's a chance that they don't either. Whether you wear a necktie or a bow tie, make sure that you learn how to tie it properly, and practice doing it more than once.

A week before the wedding, make sure you have a plan for picking up rentals, and also for returning them. Angelus Bridal published a great blog about Quick Fix Tips for the Groom's Clothing that is filled with helpful ideas for handling wardrobe malfunctions on the big day. Take a look, because you never know when you may need to have that information stored away.

Show off some personality
The groom should have some aspect of his clothing that sets him apart from the rest of the men. This can be a slightly different suit, a special boutonniere, or a different accent color than the groomsmen are wearing. It can also be fun to throw in some whimsical extras for all of the gentlemen in the wedding party.

Crazy patterned socks peeking out from beneath their pants legs, goofy cuff links, or a themed undershirt to show off later at the reception can be fun, especially in the pictures. You can also get creative with the boutonnieres by using something pertaining to a hobby or like instead of flowers, such as fishing lures, action figures, or guitar picks.

Hopefully the tips above will put you on the path for finding the best men's clothing for your wedding. Our bridal boutique in South Florida is a one-stop-shop when it comes to weddings. We can help you find the perfect tuxedos for the men, as well as introduce you to our in house photographer, cake designer, makeup artist, and florist. Gorgeous New Year's Eve Dress Styles To Ring In 2017

It's almost time to ring in another new year, so that means it's time to find the perfect party dress to wear to your New Year's Eve celebration. You will find the best special occasion dresses in South Florida right here in Pompano Beach. With the large variety of colors, styles, and affordable prices ranges at Angelus Bridal & Formals, you are bound to find something spectacular to wear!

The party gown that you choose will greatly depend on your own personality and personal style. The way that you want to look and feel on New Year's Eve will play a big part in the dress you end up wearing. Here are a few popular looks to help you decide.

CLASSIC
Many women choose to go with the always perfect "little black dress," but many others prefer to throw in a splash of fun color to usher in a new year. Angelus Bridal & Formals can definitley help you, no matter which look you want to wear this year. Depending on the formality of the party you will be attending, we have a wonderful assortment of floor length, cocktail length, and short gowns for you to choose from.

FUN & FLIRTY
For the woman that wants to kick up her heels, dance the night away, and have all eyes on her, a fun and flirty party dress is just the thing. One way to go is short and sweet, showing off your gorgeous legs and a fantastic pair of shoes. Another option is to stick with a longer style of gown, but pick one with plenty of sparkle and "twirl-ability" on the dance floor.

GLAMOROUS
This look is also an excellent way to have all eyes on you. A long evening gown in either a dark, glamorous shade or a shiny, metallic tone is a very festive way to celebrate the coming year. You will look as if you just stepped straight off of a red carpet and right into the party.

Don't forget to add a few fabulous accessories to your New Year's Eve party look too. Amazing shoes are always a must, even if you wear a long gown. Your toes are sure to peek out at some point, plus, who doesn't love getting a gorgeous new pair of shoes! A small handbag is ideal, large enough to carry the essentials yet small enough to not draw attention away from your spectacular dress. As for jewelry, go bold with a simpler gown, and if your dress is a showpiece of its own, keep the jewelry a little more understated.

Our South Florida special occasion dress store is here to make sure you find exactly what you are looking for. During your shopping appointment, our knowledgable consultants will take your fashion wants and needs and guide you toward the perfect party dress. Visit Angelus Bridal & Formals soon. We can't wait to dress you up!

7 Helpful Tips For Beautiful Bridal Nails

Your first impression as a bride walking down the aisle is the beautiful wedding dress that you will be wearing. Everyone can see that from a distance. It's after the ceremony, when you are hugging all of your guests and accepting their heartfelt congratulations, that they begin noticing the details of your wedding day fashion. One thing in particular that they will all be asking to see is that fabulous new wedding ring. Angelus Bridal has a few tips to make sure your hands are in perfect shape for showing off that incredible ring.

Start Now!
If your hands and nails aren't in their best possible shape, find a routine that you can stick with as soon as possible to get them where you want them to be. It can take a couple of months to reach the desired nail shape, and once you do, you'll want them to be strong and healthy enough to hold that shape. Even if you don't have the time or the budget to visit a nail salon regularly, there are plenty of things that you can do on your own to help the process.

Moisturize
Use hand lotion with SPF daily and exfoliate regularly to keep the skin soft and smooth. Take extra special care of those cuticles. It can take months to get them where they need to be, and this is where your nails grow from. The healthier you keep the cuticles, the better it is for a healthy nail.

Gently push them back with a towel after your shower while they are still soft. Use a cuticle conditioner on them every night before you go to bed. Never cut your cuticles unless there is the risk of a hangnail. It's best to use a cuticle remover or let a professional take care of it rather then trimming.

File Carefully
When you trim your nails, always cut them slightly longer than you want them to be. Next, file, but only in one direction straight across the nail rather than back and forth. Then lightly file around the edges to clean up any snags or rough spots. Once a month you can gently buff the nails to give them a smooth, shiny finish, but more than that could cause weakening.

Polish Wisely
Never apply nail polish without first using a base coat. This will keep your nails from staining. When you are ready to remove that nail polish, only use removers that are non-acetone or soy-based. Acetone removers are meant to be used to take off acrylic nails and gels. If you need to have that type of nail taken off, let a pro take care of it, but not too close to the wedding day.

Take Your Vitamins
Making sure that you get your daily dose of healthy vitamins and minerals is important to your general health. Vitamin B and biotin capsules are especially great for your nails because they allow your body to better metabolize fats, proteins, and amino acids. These boost your nail's hardness, elasticity, and sheen.

Wear Gloves
If you need to handle household cleaners or other chemicals, wear gloves so that they don't ruin the progress you've made on your hands and nails. Better yet, talk that future hubby into helping you out with the chores until after the wedding! (Hopefully after the wedding too!)

Schedule Your Bridal Manicure
You will want to have your manicure for the wedding done a few days before the event. Make sure that you have a bottle of the correct shade of polish for any last minute touch-ups needed.

Following a regular, healthy routine a few months before your wedding day should result in breathtaking hands and nails for showing off your new ring. Your husband's hands will be highlighted in a few of the wedding photos too, so it's not a bad idea to try to get him on board with the routine for himself. Then you will both have the most fantastic hands and nails to compliment that gorgeous Angelus Bridal wedding dress that you are wearing. Now that you look so great, keep the routine going after your wedding day too.
